Hugh Jackman is remembering David Lynch in a heartfelt tribute.
The Deadpool & Wolverine actor, 56, took to Instagram Stories on Thursday after the late filmmaker's family shared the news of his passing earlier that day.
"The loss of David Lynch is massive," the actor began in his post dedicated to the 78-year-old "incredible artist, filmmaker, philanthropist and spirit."
Jackman continued, "His work at The David Lynch Foundation has been an inspiration to my life. I will continue to help carry the torch as best I can."
He concluded the post with "deepest condolences and love to his family and friends."
Lynch founded his foundation in 2005 to fund the practice of meditation in schools and was candid about how meditation impacted his life.
The Twin Peaks showrunner himself began practicing transcendental meditation in 1973, which he continued till he passed away at age 78. The four-time Oscar nominee would have turned 79 this Monday.
"...I had no idea how powerful and profound this technique could be until I saw firsthand how it was being practiced by veterans who suffer the living hell of post-traumatic stress and women and girls who are survivors of terrible violence," Lynch once said of the practice, according to a statement on the foundation's website.
The father-of-four also published a book Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity in 2006 and later a memoir in 2028, titled Room to Dream.
Jackman, too, advocates for meditation and started meditating 31 years ago when he was a “younger acting student,” he told People Magazine in September 2024.
